Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is responsible for the management of transportation of the state which includes railways, roadways, canals and terminals such as railway stations, airports, bus stations etc. It manages inter-connectivity of all the transportation means for the efficient movement of goods and people of the Georgia.

Road Transportation in Georgia

The state Department of Transportation has come up with many effective ways to improve the road transportation. GDOT uses a versatile approach to deal with travel needs and assist protect the security and well-organized movement of people and goods on highway system.

MARTA

MARTA buses has services on weekdays and timing for same is 5 a.m. to 1:00 a.m and until 12:30 a.m. on weekends and holidays.

MARTA Bus Services

All riders must carry a Breeze Card to get the bus facilities. There are 38 rail stations where you can get this from a Breeze Vending Machine or at any of the MARTA Ride stores.

Cobb Community Transit or CCT is the reliable way to get access to bus facilities in Cobb County and to Downtown Atlanta via Express, Fixed or Paratransit services. The transfer of fund will automatically load if you are using Breezer card.

Adopt-A-Highway

Georgia's Adopt-A-Highway Program encourages people to clean roadsides by removing litters. Many volunteers participates in it to help remove and augment this program. It organizes many programs in which many companies and organization participates to create more and more awareness among people. It also helps in promoting pride and civic responsibility.

Rail Transportation of Georgia

Amtrak's has two long distance rail lines in Georgia which serves people in the northwestern part of Georgia and along the coast. The state has only few stations, so train service mainly connects cities in other states to the north and south to Atlanta and Savannah.

The Port of Savannah comprises of two deepwater terminals, namely Ocean Terminal and Garden City Terminal. It has convenient state-of-the-art cargo- handling equipment, intermodal connections and value-added services.

The Port of Brunswick is the nation’s busiest sea port for automobile imports. The terminal is also home to agri based products from Georgia, the South Atlantic’s huge export / import operation and the expending U.S. grain belt, as well as from the Colonel’s Island docks and import products.
