Healthy Homes and Lead Poisoning Prevention
The key aims of this program:
- The program works toward to eliminate health hazards related to housing and to create awareness about housing that is healthy, affordable, safe and accessible
- To aware about housing conditions that is unsafe to live caused by dangers and works on it
- They also make sure that proper care is provided for populations under threat by housing‐related health issues;
Georgia Asthma Control Program
Goals of this program:
- To collect information on occurrence, hospitalization, deaths, and risk for asthma in Georgia.
- To make reports consisting details of the burden of asthma for the public and health care professionals.
- To give details to create asthma management programs and estimates the efficiency of the programs.
- To work toward the quality of life of people of Georgia having asthma and reduce the burden of asthma in Georgia.
Breast and Cervical Cancer Program
This program is for women who are residing in Georgia and of age 21 to 64 years for cervical cancer screening and of age 40 to 64 years for breast cancer screening. The program helps women who are not insured and also women with a low annual income (not greater than 200% of the federal poverty level).
Services provided by this program includes:
- Full coverage Medicaid that not just includes cancer treatment but full range of services.
- Cervical and Breast cancer treatment.
Georgia Sexual Violence Prevention Program
This Program is created to work toward the agenda of Healthy People 2020 National Goals with the help of awareness and to effectively bring prevention of sexual crimes in eight public health districts of Georgia.
Women’s Health Medicaid Program
This program was passed by Congress in 2000 where women having early Breast and Cervical cancer signs can have access to treatment through medicaid. This is know as Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention and Treatment Act. All 50 states have approved of this act and is being implemented in all states.

Georgia's Medicaid
Georgia's Medicaid work effectively for low-income families by giving them access to best medical facilities by paying their medical expenses including foster and adoptive children, pregnant women and women having breast or cervical cancer and for those people whose income is not enough to meet the cost of required medical services. Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) manages Medicaid and pays medical expenses with state and federal tax money.
To be eligible for Medicaid you should belong to any of the following category:
- pregnant
- over the age of 65
- a child or teenager age 18 or under
- been diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer
- need nursing home care
- disabilities
- blind
